What is the Library of Leng?
The Library of Leng is a site to allow people to share decks for various card games. Users can add decks, edit them, and view them.
Why 'Library of Leng'?
Originally, the site was created specifically for Magic: The Gathering decks created for MTGPlay (an online player). 'Library of Leng' is a card from that game. I chose it because Libraries are repositories of knowledge; in a sense, this is to be a 'library' of decks. Out of the Libraries in the game, I liked this name (and art) the most.
Does the Library of Leng only support MTGPlay?
For the original version, this was true. However, the Library was updated in March 2005 to allow exporting to Apprentice, Magic Online, MTGWorkstation and OCTGN.
Does the Library of Leng only support Magic: The Gathering?
For the moment, this is true. However, there are plans to expand the Library in the future to support other games, such as Battletech and VS.
How do I submit a deck?
First, you must log in to the site. Then, go to the Deck List page, and click on the 'Submit a Deck' link at the top. This will give you the deck submission form, follow the instructions given there.
What do the Privacy Levels on the Deck List mean?
When someone submits a deck, they can assign it a Privacy level. By default, decks are Public, but there are higher privacy levels present, as described below:
- Public: Anyone viewing the Library of Leng can see this deck.
- Members only: Only logged in members of the Library of Leng can see this deck.
- Teammates Only: Only members of the submitter's team can see this deck.
- Private: Only the deck's submitter can see it.
I don't have an account! How do I get one?
For convenience, the Library of Leng shares user information with the Cardfloppers.com
Forums. Simply get an account there, and use the same login details for the
Library. The first time you log in, some data will be transferred to the LOL
database, allowing you to log in here even if Cardfloppers goes down.
I already did this, but now my password/details are wrong!
The Library of Leng only takes information from Cardfloppers the first time you log in, if you have subsequently changed your password or other profile information on Cardfloppers your LOL account will need updating. This is currently being worked on, until then just PM Zark the Damned and ask him nicely to update your info.
The site looks weird. What's gone wrong?
This could be one of two things. One possibility is that you have accessed the site during a style update. The other possibility is that your Browser does not fully support CSS. The site is designed to be reasonably accessible (I'm still learning though) and works perfectly well in Firefox 1.0+. Here is a list of known problems:
- Internet Explorer(Windows, version 6+): Image rollovers do not work on Deck pages. Login form background does not disappear on mouseover. Link images flicker on rollover.
- Safari(Mac OSX): Login form background images do not appear.
Why is the first letter of each link in the menu underlined?
The Library of Leng uses Accesskeys to improve navigation speed and accessibility. Pressing Alt+H (in Firefox), for example, returns you to the Home page. These Accesskeys are shown graphically by underlining them.
What is the 'Profile' link for?
This is a feature of the Library not implemented yet, it will allow you to edit your profile and edit your decks easily.
What is the 'Team' link for?
This is a feature of the Library not implemented yet, it will allow you to join or manage teams.
What is the 'Events' link for?
This is a feature of the Library not implemented yet, it will allow you to enter various tournaments and leagues and submit decks for them.
Can I search the Library?
Currently, the only way to search the library is manually. However, a search and sort feature is being added to the deck list.
